Is G Fuel toxic?

a tub of G Fuel

G Fuel is not toxic or harmful to your health. If you are concerned about lead content in G Fuel powdered format, you should know that it is only present in it in a minimal amount.

As far as caffeine content, G Fuel only contains as much caffeine as one cup of a regular cup of coffee (150mg per), which is safe to consume unless you are caffeine sensitive.

If you are on a healthy diet and conscious about your weight, you don’t have to worry because G fuel only contains 25 calories and zero sugar.

By eliminating sugar from its ingredient, G Fuel removes the danger of sugar crashes or other harmful effects of sugar on your health. However, G Fuel does contain artificial sweeteners but it is safe to consume by FDA standards but only in moderation. Rest assured that G Fuel is a trusted brand consumed and loved by many.

The small amount of lead should not stop you from enjoying your favorite energy drink in moderation.

Does G Fuel have lead?

G Fuel has a minimal amount of lead that isn’t dangerous.

The package of G Fuel Powder contains a lead warning because California law is pretty strict regarding warning labels in food and drink. CDC reports that 0.5 micrograms of lead content can cause dangerous blood toxicity levels, while FDA says otherwise.

According to an FDA report, 12.5 micrograms (25 times higher than California’s limit) of lead amount can cause toxicity in the blood. Lead content in G Fuel is only found in trace amounts that natural ingredients soak up through their roots which makes it under the safe limit recommended by FDA.

Moreover, only the powdered form of G Fuel comes with the lead warning and not the canned one. So, if you are still not completely confident if the lead in powdered G Fuel is safe for you, you can opt for the canned version of G Fuel.

To conclude, G Fuel does have a trace amount of lead, but it doesn’t impact your health unless you are a nursing or pregnant woman, or kids under 18.

To see just how bad large amounts of lead is for human health, have a look at this video:

How much lead is in G Fuel?

G fuel contains lead content which is under the FDA’s recommended limit.

Unfortunately, the exact quantity of lead in G Fuel is not mentioned by the brand. Further, G Fuel officially says that:

“You are rest assured knowing G FUEL is manufactured in FDA certified facilities and is 100% FDA compliant”.

G Fuel does not need to be approved by FDA because it is a supplement, not a drug. However, it is manufactured under the supervision of FDA-certified facilities (inspected by and adheres to the requirements of the United States FDA).

Where does lead in G Fuel come from?

a can of G Fuel

G Fuel does not add lead as an ingredient, but it is a naturally occurring chemical element which the natural ingredients that are added in G Fuel sock up with their roots from the soil.

You should not have to worry about lead because products containing lead aren’t uncommon. It is a naturally occurring element abundantly found in the food mainly vegetables we obtain from Earth. It is present in soil typically at concentrations from 10 to 50 mg.

Can drinking G Fuel give you lead poisoning?

Drinking G fuel in moderation won’t give you lead poisoning.

However, these people shouldn’t drink G fuel to avoid lead poisoning:

  • Children under the age of 18
  • Pregnant and nursing women
  • Someone with underlying health issues

It’s best to consult your doctor if you are from the categories above-mentioned.

Besides lead content, G fuel contains many beneficial ingredients. You can read about them here in my other article. However, I would recommend only one serving of this beverage per day.

Wrapping Up

G Fuel does contain lead in a small amount which is not harmful. According to the brand themselves, they are 100% FDA compliant, which means most of their ingredients are generally safe.

There aren’t any harmful ingredients besides lead in G Fuel that can cause health issues. Unless you’re taking artificial sweeteners and caffeine content in G Fuel into consideration, they only become a problem if you consume G Fuel or other caffeinated or sugary food in excessive amounts.

Overall, if you stick to a moderate amount of G Fuel Powder servings per day, you should be completely okay.
